Our Journey to Squeaky Gates
Hello and welcome to Squeaky Gates!
We're Jenny and Mark - a pair of lifelong wanderers through the wonderful, ordinary and often slightly squeaky moments of everyday life. After many good years in full-time work, we decided it was time to gently close one chapter and open another - one filled with slower mornings, longer conversations and plenty of time to notice the beauty in the little things.
The idea for Squeaky Gates was born one afternoon over a cup of tea (where many of our best ideas tend to appear). We realised that life isn't always about grand adventures or big milestones - sometimes, it's the small stories, the soft laughter, the familiar creak of a garden gate and the companionship of a dog like our Marnie that make it all so special.
With that in mind, we created this space as a kind of friendly corner - a place to share reflections, funny tales, thoughtful moments and, the occasional honest truth about the realities of getting older (with grace, humour and plenty of tea).
Squeaky Gates is our way of celebrating the everyday - the bits that might not make the headlines but certainly make a life. We're so glad you've found your way here and we hope you'll pull up a chair, settle in and stay a while.
