Songs from the Gate
Fragments
A song built from the pieces we carry — memories, moments and feelings that never quite leave us.
About the song
Fragments grew from the idea that our lives are made up of pieces — moments, memories, people and feelings that may seem separate at the time, but somehow become part of the same story.
It’s about carrying those fragments with us without letting them weigh us down — accepting that even the unfinished pieces still belong.

Listen to Fragments
Press play, settle in, and let the pieces find their place.
Lyrics
Verse 1
There’s a light in a window
At the end of a street,
Someone standing in silence,
Someone waiting to speak.
There’s a cup going cold
By an old wooden chair,
And a story unfolding
That we’ll never quite share.
Pre-Chorus
We catch them for a moment,
Then the moment slips away,
Little pieces of a lifetime
Passing through the day.
Chorus
Fragments…
Scattered through the day,
Moments that don’t linger,
But never fade away.
Fragments…
Faces passing by,
Pieces of a story
We may never know the why.
Verse 2
There’s a man on a park bench
With his hands in his coat,
And a girl at the bus stop
Reading words someone wrote.
Two strangers pass each other,
Neither knowing the name,
For a heartbeat their journeys
Share a piece of the same.
Pre-Chorus
We catch them for a moment,
Then the moment slips away,
Little pieces of a lifetime
Passing through the day.
Chorus
Fragments…
Scattered through the day,
Moments that don’t linger,
But never fade away.
Fragments…
Faces passing by,
Pieces of a story
We may never know the why.
Verse 3
There’s a photograph fading
At the back of a drawer,
There are footsteps remembered
That don’t sound anymore.
There are words left unspoken,
There are names we still say,
There are pieces we carry
Though the years fall away.
Bridge
Maybe that’s all any of us are
To most of the people we meet.
A face through a window.
A voice in a doorway.
A stranger passing in the street.
A moment.
A memory.
A piece of somebody’s day.
And somewhere, without knowing,
We’ve been somebody’s fragment too.
Final Chorus
Fragments…
Scattered through the years,
Made of little moments,
Made of love and loss and tears.
Fragments…
Nothing disappears,
Somehow all the pieces
Still belong to why we’re here.
Outro
So let the moments find us,
Let them come and let them go.
We don’t need the whole story
For a little piece to show.
Fragments…
Passing on their way.
And somewhere in the distance,
Another light stays on today.
