Come As You Are – The Gate’s Already Open

Welcome To Squeaky Gates

Because some stories deserve to be told before they’re forgotten.

We’re Mark and Jenny — two voices among many, still finding meaning in the small things.
After a lifetime of doing, we’re learning to simply be — to sit with the silence, to honour the ache, to laugh at the past, and to write down what we can… while we still remember it.
This space isn’t polished or perfect. It’s honest.
Sometimes light, sometimes heavy — but always real.
If you’ve ever looked back with a lump in your throat and a smile in your heart… then you already belong.

Meet The Squeakys

Mark

I’m Mark — freshly retired, tea in hand, and finally chasing the quiet joys I used to daydream about. Stories, garden gates, and chats with the dog are my kind of day.

Jenny

I’m Jenny — experienced retiree and still keeping everyone in check with a smile and a strong cup of tea. I believe in honesty, quiet strength, and finding joy in the simple things.

Marnie

I’m Marnie — small, fluffy, and absolutely in charge. I may look cute, but I run a tight ship (especially when biscuits are involved). When it comes to attention – I want it ALL!

“A life well-lived, a love well-rooted, and a little white dog who thinks he’s the reason for it all.”

About Us

Welcome to our little corner of the world, where life moves at a gentler pace, the kettle’s always on, and there’s usually a small white dog stealing the spotlight.

We’re Mark, Jenny, and Marnie — one retired romantic, one wise woman with a twinkle in her eye, and one very pampered pooch. Together, we make up the heart and soul of Squeaky Gates — a place for stories, memories, mischief, and the simple joys of everyday life.
